DIVING CONDITIONS: The waters in this area are warm, ranging between 68 and 85 Fahrenheit (20-30 Celsius). Offshore visibility is 30-100 feet (10-30 meters) and inshore the visibility is also good, except in the rainy season (April-October). Most spots can be speared at depths of 5 to 15 feet (2-5m), but many other areas range in the 10 to 100 feet (3-30m). Spots range from rocks right on the camp shore, to outer islands with reefs and blue water pinnacles, to great blue water 40 miles offshore (at the World famous Hannibal Banks).
Difficulty Level: This destination is great for all level of spearos, from shallow shooting of easier species, to expert bluewater spearing of tuna, billfish, etc.
SPECIES ENCOUNTERED: In front of the camp, or at the nearby river mouth, snook, roosterfish, flounder, parrotfish, king mackerel and lobster can be found.
At the outer islands, at the pinnacles or in the bluewater located offshore, species such as grouper, goliath grouper, cubera snapper, dog snapper, trevally, amberjack, barracuda, tuna, sailfish, swordfish, mahi-mahi, and wahoo can be targeted.

BOAT & ACCOMODATIONS: Lodging is at a fishing camp right by the shore. Amenities include individual & double bunks, mosquito nets, running water/showers and a staffed kitchen. There are 2 pangas (18 feet long, 1 outboard engine) and a sports fishing boat (22 feet long, dual outboard) available for spearfishing, both run by local certified guides.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES: Surfing, fishing, hiking and horseback riding are all available.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: From November 1 to April 1.
