LOCATION: West Side of Oahu, Hawaii on the Pacific Ocean. Major airport is Honolulu (HNL). Meeting place is either West Side Dive and Tackle or Waianae Boat Harbor
DIVING CONDITIONS /Difficulty Level: We cater your diving session to the level of your freediving and spearfishing skills. The average water temperature around Oahu is 77 degrees Fahrenheit with visibility being 30-60 feet and a depth ranging from 5 ft for beginners and 100+ ft for more expert level divers. Our dives can start inside the breakwaters a distance of 100 yards offshore, to several miles away at one of the F.A.Ds (fish attraction devices).
SPECIES ENCOUNTERED: Parrotfish, king mackerel and lobster can be found everywhere, and Bluewater fishing will allow us a chance at species such as grouper, trevally, amberjack, barracuda, yellow fin tuna, sailfish, swordfish, mahi-mahi, and wahoo. There are occasions that some of these pelagic species get in close enough to shore to give less experienced divers a chance to bring them home.
To see pictures of these fish, please use the English name for species Here.
BOAT & ACCOMODATIONS: We are doing the research to expand our dive charter to include camping trips to remote locations on the outer islands that are most ideal for diving and overnight stays.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES: We are a spearfishing only dive charter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime Year Round. Rainy season is during December but besides that weather is usually moderate and consistent.
COST /LENGTH OF STAY: This is a low-cost destination. No minimum stay required. |
